We Are ONE & We Must Do Better

In this episode, the vibe is going to be a little bit different than usual. Rather than continuing with “business as usual”, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the recent tragedy of George Floyd’s death and the events that have happened since.

Show Notes:

00:49 LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT’S GOING ON RIGHT NOW

In light of everything going on right now, I wanted to take a moment to talk about my reaction and how I’ve shaped my opinion over the past week.

1:54 GEORGE FLOYD’S MURDER WAS A TRAGEDY

When George Floyd was murdered, it was a tragedy, it was awful, and justice needs to be served. What happened afterwards brought more tragedy and more lives being taken and that’s also not okay. It’s hard to see people fearing for their lives.

2:38 I AM NO LONGER STAYING QUIET

What I’ve learned is how close-minded I have been my whole life about what people of color have to go through on a daily basis. It’s unacceptable that people still have to deal with racism in this day in age.

4:32 VIOLENCE IS STILL NEVER RIGHT

Violence is still never right. Right will always be right. Wrong will always be wrong.

5:30 A FRIEND WHO HAS BI-RACIAL CHILDREN

After having a conversation with a friend who has bi-racial children, it changed my perspective on speaking out.

6:48 WHAT WE CAN DO TO CREATE CHANGE!

What we can do as human beings to create change and create a new situation and new future: lead with our heart, be open minded, and be KIND!

In order to create change, we have to come together. There is no community without unity.

9:08 CHANGE CAN START AT HOME

We can do so much within our home, where change can start.

What we do now matters.

10:38 SELF-REFLECTION

Take time to self reflect on where you stand with what is right and how we can make a change in this country.
