How to Prepare for a Joyful and Less Chaotic Holiday Season with Micah Folsom

Powered by RedCircle

Today, I want to celebrate the busy moms and help you prepare for a joyful and less chaotic holiday season! With everything on our plates during the holidays, it’s time to acknowledge our efforts and stop being so hard on ourselves. It can feel like we’re constantly juggling responsibilities leading to burnout and overwhelm, which is why we need to emphasize the importance of self-appreciation. There’s a lot of pressure that comes with the holiday season, so I’m here to encourage you to lean into creating memories with your loved ones rather than constantly striving for perfection.

00:02 The Narrative in our Minds

There’s a narrative that often plays out in our minds as women. We tend to be our own harshest critics, constantly striving for perfection and setting high expectations for ourselves. We need to give ourselves permission to ask for help when we need it and take time to prioritize self-care. We have a lot on our plates. It’s important to take time for ourselves.

09:33 Presence Over Perfection

Moms often strive for perfection and feel guilty when we fall short, especially over the holidays. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, trying to create the perfect holiday experience for our families. But it’s important to take a breath, get centered, and focus on what truly matters. Let’s create meaningful experiences and memories with our children, rather than getting caught up in the chaos.

13:01 Prioritizing What Matters

It’s easy to get caught up in the never-ending to-do list and let it take away from being present with our loved ones. We need to prioritize what truly matters and let go of the rest. We also need to focus on generating energy through daily disciplines and habits, such as having a morning routine, that nourish and sustain us.

19:33 Growth and Self-Appreciation

I commend you for your desire to grow, evolve, and show up in the world. It takes courage and determination to continuously work on ourselves and strive to be better. I encourage you to give yourself credit for the progress you’ve made and to make a list of your daily accomplishments. Celebrate your growth and appreciate the journey you’re on.

21:49 Prioritize Self-Care

I encourage  you to give yourself grace and permission to prioritize self-care. Let go of perfectionism and the need to do it all. Share this episode with other moms who may need a reminder to take care of themselves. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup, so prioritize self-love and care for the benefit of yourself and your loved ones.

Hi, I’m Micah! Wife to a cattle rancher and homeschool mom to our 6 kids on our small farm in Southeast Idaho.

I’m a top network marketing leader in the health & wellness space, Host of the Do Your Crap Podcast, Creator of my program for network marketers called Ignite Your Life and most recently helping my husband, JD with our new business selling homegrown beef subscription boxes so more families can enjoy delicious meals together with the peace of mind knowing exactly where their meat was raised.

I’m a huge believer that women can live multi-passionate lives and still honor their family values, letting our heart tugs pave the way for us to live out our fullest potential and be the light we’re meant to be.
