In this episode, we have Kim Walsh, founder of “Warrior Forward Wellness”, a women’s lifestyle coaching business. She focuses on health, nutrition, and educating women on how to go from surviving to thriving. We take a deep dive into personal transformation from the outside, in. We talk about things that hold people back from finding their joy and how to break free.
Kim kicks off the conversation by talking about her journey and how she got to where she is today. She talks about a period of time where she was simply just surviving and very much lacking true happiness. She came to a point of personal transformation that led to a more fulfilling life. This is when she decided to help others make physical and physiological transformations for positive change.
Kim talks about the steps she took for personal transformation. She decided the best path to change was starting with the physical body and working her way inward. Starting with a healthy body helped her get to a healthy mind.
09:08 Being Held Back
I ask Kim what she thinks is holding people back from living the lives they want. Her first answer is we don’t give ourselves permission to want something more. She mentions that we need to be okay with having multiple titles. The other thing she thinks is a big factor that holds us back is not having a solid support system.
13:53 Breaking Free
When you start to feel stuck in your transformation journey, Kim encourages you to unpack the things you’ve wanted throughout your life to find the connections and the paths to take. Finding joy can mean being more than just one thing in life.
Reframing internal balance is step number one in making life changes to find joy. It’s key to start small and focus on the season of life that you are currently in. Make changes and adapt to your current situation. Transformation is a process with moving parts.
Kim talks about coaching and what to do as a coach if you are feeling like you are struggling in your own life, and therefore are having a hard time helping people in theirs. You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to not always have it all together. Use the messiness of life as a lesson for yourself and others.
