Chardet encourages women everywhere to strip away the rules holding them back from true wellbeing. We dig into wellness, body image and self-confidence.

Show Notes:

02:18 Don’t Wait to Do What You Really Want to Do

Chardet shares a little bit about her story and how her life lessons and experiences have become a big part of what she teaches now. She talks about how she’s been traveling and working for the last year. She realized the importance of not waiting to do the things you really want to do in life

05:20 The Growth Mindset Has Nothing to Do with Fitness and Food

Chardet explains how you can reach, and even go beyond your fitness goals without ever evolving in your mindset. It’s about being comfortable in your own skin.

11:40 Shifting Your Mindset Around Your Body

After 20 years of working out, Chardet reflects on how the first 10 years were so much harder than the second 10 because she shifted how she felt about her body. She began to embrace her Brazilian body type and stopped restricting food so much. It’s about finding your sweet spot.

17:50 5 Rules To Feel Better Naked

Chardet has five rules that we each must embrace to feel good naked.

  1. You must have more than just a number goal, you have to go beyond that.
  2. Each week, you must re-introduce one food back that you outlawed.
  3. Don’t have a cheat meal or cheat day. Instead, have a more holistic way of eating.
  4. Don’t have any “if, then” rules. You don’t need to punish yourself.
  5. Choose your workouts for more than how they will change you physically.

29:54 The Pillars to Wellness

There are some pillars to wellness. The first is mindful movement which means it’s enjoyable and it is also benefiting your body and your life. The other one is to focus on gentle nutrition meaning that you think about what your body needs, versus what your mind wants. Chardet explains how everyone has a different nutrition sweet spot and she relates this to the idea of body neutrality. It’s about appreciating what your body can do. The last pillar has to do with stress management. It is an important part of your wellness.
