Embracing the Suck & the Art of Bouncing Back with Darleen Santore

Embracing the Suck & the Art of Bouncing Back with Darleen Santore

Powered by RedCircle

This week I have Darleen Santore, aka Coach Dar, who talks about finding your WHY and lighting a fire in your soul in order to come out stronger on the other side of hardships. Coach Dar tells us about the 9 principles in her book, “The Art of Bouncing Back”, to help you better understand who you are to your core and how to “embrace the suck” and apply feedback from it to move forward. These principles run in a circle, so that we can use them in any season of life!

Show Notes:

08:13 Shifting Perspective and Rising Above Hardships

Coach Dar (Darleen Santore) talks about living by the examples around her. She went through a lot of tough situations, but she followed people who also went through tough situations and managed to rise above it.  She notes, to not get resentful, you have to shift your perspective. Being resentful will never move you forward.

11:28 Applying Principles and Building Foundations

Coach Dar lists 9 principles in her book, “The Art of Bouncing Back”. These principles run in a circle because life is not linear. Any of these principles can be used at any season in your life. It’s about building a foundation to better understand who you are to your core and how to “embrace the suck” and apply feedback from it to move forward.

17:57 Personal Development and Believing in Yourself

If you’re getting knocked down frequently, you have to ask yourself what you’re not believing and what you need to do to build strength. Hone your gifts and offer what you have to the world. Work on personal development to strengthen your purpose and confidence. Things don’t get easier, but you can build a better foundation for when storms come.

21:03 Finding Your Why and Lighting a Fire Within

Drop the titles and find your big why. Understand what your passion and purpose is and this will light a fire within. Also understand that hard doesn’t mean over, humans are resilient if they want to be. Reframe your bad and figure out how to turn yourself around on the other side. Use it as fuel to move forward.
